In true collaborative form, we came together to tackle the website’s main structure through an internal team card sorting exercise.
From this, we developed a high level Information Architecture for the website.
Then, Content was then tagged in to sort the fine print.
They are the true heroes of this story. 🎖️
In a perfect world, we would have carried out this card-sorting exercise with our users. However, given the constraints we faced, we opted to perform it internally with our team. It was a fun way to refine our information architecture while concurrently providing validation, support, and education on UX to the broader team.
Here is the breakdown of the process:
- Team card sorting session!
- Establish a high-level Information Architecture (IA).
- Confirm findings through prior research.
- Bring in content team to further refine the detail pages within the site.
I can’t brag on the Content Team enough for their work on this project.
The Experience Abu Dhabi website is dense. I knew as a designer I lacked a comprehensive understanding of all the content available on the site - especially compared to the content folks who were knee deep in it. So, we called in Content to sort out the nitty-gritty details based on our high-level IA.
They are the true heroes of this story. If I haven't made it clear yet, THANK YOU! You all absolutely rock! You know who you are 😉
